USS Pompano was mistakenly bombed by aircraft from USS Enterprise but managed to escape.

USS Tang pictured above, was an ace US submarine… until she literally sank herself with a circular running torpedo.

Oh yeah. These kinds of incidents are quite common even in modern war, let alone back then.

Sometime ago, the Iranian Minister said that a US Navy aircraft carrier would be an easy target for 300 speed boats armed with Katyusha rocket launchers. Is this true?
